4th of July

The 4th of July is a visual exploration of one of the most celebrated national holidays. It looks at the traditional displays of consumption and excess often associated with the holiday, and in the end, the way in which ideals such as freedom and independence are confused with and expressed through consumption. In this series, beer cans, raw meat and mayonnaise (among other things) visually collide with fireworks to create something that is revolting and seductive at the same time.
